Agathiyarin Atma Gayatri Nonbu.

The procedure to begin the Atma Gayatri Fast

Visit a Ganesha temple: The family and friends who intend to undertake the fast should visit a nearby Ganesha temple. Offer prayers and seek blessings for the successful completion of the Atma Gayatri fast.

Water offering: Following this, take water in your cupped hands and recite the invocation, 'Om Sri Adi Moola Ganapataye Potri'. Offer the water to the Earth, ensuring you do not step on the spot. Repeat this 3 times.

Wearing the sacred thread: Tie the protective thread of Sri Kaalabhairava around your right wrist, chanting ‘Om Sri Kaalabhairavare Potri’ 3 times.

Preparing a sacred space: Choose a quiet and peaceful spot in the temple and cleanse it with water.

Consecrating the Atma Gayatri Yantra: Place a wooden plank (marapalagai) as a seat. On this, draw three dots in a triangular formation, with two dots at the base and one at the apex, like the letter 'ஃ'.

Consecrate the first dot as the Adishakti by chanting ‘Om Sri Adishaktiye Potri’ 3 times.

Consecrate the second dot as the Adishiva by chanting ‘Om Sri Adishivane Potri’ 3 times.

Uniting these two dots, invoke Sadhguru Agathiya Maharishi, the embodiment of the 'Tattvamasi' principle, by saying ‘Om Sri Kalki Agatheesaya Namo Namaha’ 3 times, and place the third dot.

Connect the three dots with lines of rice flour, forming a triangle. Place three oil lamps within the triangle, pointing inwards, and light them. Fill akshata (rice grains) or flowers within the triangular yantra.

Offering of prasad: Offer food or fruits to the divine energies present in the form of the lamp. Additionally, fill an earthen pot (mankuvalai) with water and place it nearby.

Note: Daily, prepare food and offer it before consumption. For those seeking deeper spiritual purification, a 48-day practice of offering one meal of cooked food and one meal of fruits and consuming it is highly recommended. Additionally, the consumption of Karisalankanni, a sacred herb, is believed to cleanse the body.

Ritual offering to the yantra:

Thereafter fill your palm with water and hold it, pray, ‘May our life's needs be fulfilled, may our soul (anma) and life force (uyir) unite, and may we attain the form of Shivashakti, (tattvamasi state).’ Repeat this 3 times, offering the water to the akshata or flowers arranged  inside the triangular yantra.

Again, holding water on your palm, pray, ‘May all beings in this world attain liberation.’ Repeat this three times, offering the water to the akshata or flowers arranged inside the triangular yantra.

Invocation and chanting of Ashtottara: After sitting before lit lamps, devoutly recite the Ashtothiram of Adishakti, Adishiva, Sadhguru Agathiya Maharishi, and Sri Kaalabhairava with heartfelt devotion and sincerity.

Chanting of Atma Gayatri Mantra: Subsequently, with eyes closed, concentrate your awareness at the crown of your head and silently repeat the Atma Gayatri Mantra a multitude of times. (A minimum of twenty-seven repetitions is recommended.) As a final act of devotion and surrender, offer incense and perform arati  (deeparadhana), and then adorn your forehead with the blessed vibhuti.

Sharing the divine grace: Share the prepared food, fruits, and mantra-infused water with those present. Partake in this divine offering as a community, fostering a sense of shared spirituality.

Distributing the Atma Gayatri Mantra cards: Take an Atma Gayatri Mantra card and approach someone you don't know who has come to the temple. Help them recite the mantra once.

Encourage sharing: Make it a personal goal to share this mantra with as many people as possible.. The minimum requirement is to assist at least one individual in reciting the mantra.

The significance of sharing: Sadhguru Agathiyar has emphasised that those who recite the Atma Gayatri Mantra can easily connect with His light bridge and attain liberation. Therefore, dear souls, make it a daily practice to teach at least one person, whom you have never met before, to recite the Atma Gayatri Mantra.

Concluding the ritual: Once you have completed the task of distributing the cards and guiding others in the recitation, you may return home with the remaining items.

How many days should one observe the Atma Gayatri fast?

The period for the Atma Gayatri fast is from 01.11.2024 to 19.12.2024. Devotees have the flexibility to start their fast on any day within this timeframe. However, the concluding day of the fast is designated to end on the Guru Pooja of Sadhguru Agathiya Maharishi, which falls on the 19.12.2024 (Marghazhi Ayilyam). The longer one observes the fast, the greater the benefits!

The Atma Gayatri Fasting Kit includes:

A protective thread blessed by Sri Kalabhairava (kaapukayiru).

Printed cards of the Atma Gayatri mantra.

A mantra book containing the 108 names (Ashtottara Sata Namavali) of the 12 principal deities of Anbaalayam: Under the spiritual guidance of Sadhguru Agathiyar, these deities preside in the sacred space of Anbaalayam. This book aids in invoking their blessings.

Vibhuti prasad offered to Agatheeswarar (also known as Natatreeswarar): This sacred vibhuti has been consecrated through special rituals and is believed to carry the divine energy of the deity. The vibhuti received as part of the fasting kit can be blended with the vibhuti in your home.

Guidelines for Continuing  Atma Gayatri Fast at Home

Notes: After completing your daily fasting rituals, visit a nearby temple or a public place. Approach someone you do not know and offer them a card inscribed with the Atma Gayatri Mantra. Guide them in reciting the mantra at least once.

There is no limit to the number of people you can reach with these cards, but ensure that you have guided at least one person in chanting the mantra each day. You may choose to reach out to multiple people daily.

During the fasting period, it is considered spiritually beneficial to reach a cumulative total of 108, 1008, 10008, or even 100008 individuals. This involves encountering new people daily and guiding them in the recitation of the Atma Gayatri Mantra.

For example, if you are fasting for 48 days, you could aim to meet 21 new people each day at a nearby temple. By guiding each of them in reciting the mantra once, you would have spiritually uplifted a total of 1008 individuals by the end of the fasting period. This accomplishment is considered highly auspicious as each soul who is doing this would be blessed with 1008 soul particles as a token of gift from those liberated souls  and also will receive  its  corresponding soul power.

Completing the Fast with a Home Guru Puja Yagna

On December 19th, the auspicious day of Margazhi Ayilyam dedicated to Sadhguru Agathiyar, conclude your fast with a special home ritual. From morning to evening, strive to awaken as many souls as possible in remembrance of Sadhguru Agathiya Maharishi's great efforts. Express your surrender and devotion for being able to  contribute to His mission.

At sunset:

Place a turmeric figurine of Lord Ganesha (manjal pillaiyaar) for worship.

Offer flowers to a portrait of Guru Agathiyar. If you do not have a portrait, create a figurine using turmeric powder and worship it as a representation of our Sadhguru.

Follow the steps 5 to 8 of the daily ritual as prescribed.

Offer prayers, requesting that all souls who have recited the Atma Gayatri Mantra be united with the light bridge of Agathiya Maharishi. Seal your prayers by offering water to the ground 3 times.

Prepare a small yagna by spreading sand in an earthen pot (man chatti) or brass plate (thambalam). Place small twigs for the fire and kindle the flame.

Breakdown of the Yagna:

Setting up the Agni (sacred fire): A person should sit near the Agni and continuously pour ghee into it. Meanwhile, everyone should collectively chant the Atma Gayatri Mantra for 24 minutes (1 naazhigai)

Preparing the Purnaguthi: A Purnaguthi set (a collection of offerings for complete oblation) should be purchased beforehand. This set should be divided into four equal parts.

Offering to deities: After everyone present touches and venerates the Purnaguthi offerings, the person sitting near the Agni should offer one-fourth of the offerings to Sri Kaalabhairava on behalf of everyone, saying, 'Om Sri Kaalabhairavare Potri Potri.' Everyone should join in and offer their gratitude while the offerings are made. Similarly, separate offerings should be made to Adishakti, Adishiva, and Sadhguru Agathiya Maharishi.

Meditation: After the offerings are made, everyone should sit with closed eyes for 24 minutes (1 naazhigai), meditating on Sadhguru Agathiya Maharishi until the Agni diminishes. Perform the ritual of deeparadhana before the deities and the portrait of Sadhguru.

Distribute prasad: Offer food, fruits, and water as prasad to all the participants of the puja. On the same day, visit a nearby old age home or a cowshed (goshala) and distribute the remaining prasad.

Concluding the Yagna: Conclude by chanting ‘Om Sri Kaalabhairavare Potri’ three times. Remove the protective thread consecrated to Sri Kaalabhairava and immerse it in a water body as a symbolic offering.

By following these steps, the Atma Gayatri fast is considered to be successfully completed.

The profound benefits of the Atma Gayatri Fast, as ordained by Adishiva

In the perilous times of Kali Yuga, humanity has lost sight of its true nature. The greatest service is to awaken divine consciousness in them. Those who have attained spiritual enlightenment should unite and liberate the ignorant souls.

Individuals pursuing spiritual liberation through other paths will reach their destination easily upon reciting  Agathiyar's Atma Gayatri Mantra.

Those who dedicate themselves to divine service are revered by the Gods themselves. To serve the great sage Agathiyar, who tirelessly engages in the supreme divine service, is the noblest of endeavours. I serve such devotees (adiyaaruku adiyavan). The Atma Gayatri Fast, a noble spiritual practice established by Agathiyar, is designed to liberate the human soul.

This sacred mantra, which subsides your mind and fosters peace, instils in all beings a sense of hope. It assures beings that they will be protected from destruction.

Virtues will flourish, good qualities will abound, and souls, cleansed of impurities and protected from destruction, will find their spiritual and material needs fulfilled.

To overcome ignorance, uplift humanity, and guide souls towards Eesan, all must strive and inspire. Let us all join hands in this collective endeavour.

“Realise that No one can devise a much simpler practice than this for humanity to awaken. Ascend to the state of surrender and transform me as your devoted Servant (adiyaaruku adiyavanaaga).”

The benefits of the Athma Gayatri Fast bestowed by Adishakti

The root cause of humanity's inability to comprehend divine warnings about the impending end of Kali Yuga and the approaching cataclysm lies in the mind's attachment to excessive worldly knowledge. The mantra revealed by Agathiyar is a miraculous tool capable of transforming all states of being.

The Athma Gayatri mantra, bestowed by Agathiyar, is a powerful tool that can break through the thickest of veils of ignorance. When the divine call is heard, it signifies the completion of one's earthly journey. As this mantra resonates in the ears of souls, many will experience a profound awakening of their inner consciousness. They will become attuned to the subtle vibrations of the cosmos and gain knowledge of the underlying cosmic principles.

Indeed, the Athma Gayatri mantra is a most wondrous mantra that will bring the Kali Yuga to an end and usher in the Satya Yuga. All beloved disciples who chant this mantra loudly will experience the opening of their inner ears. Even those who listen to others chant it shall receive blessings. The very sound of this mantra, as it echoes from the human ears, will attract souls, connect them to the light bridge, and elevate them to the heavens. This is a time when the divine powers are actively working to compassionately protect human souls.

Thanks to Agathiya Rishi’s benevolence, souls thrive and are liberated. Let us all embrace this and act. Those who dedicate a mandala (48 days) to the uninterrupted chanting of the Athma Gayatri mantra will open their inner ear to the soul's radiant light. They will hear the soul's loving counsel. To understand and perceive this, pay close attention to the words that enter your consciousness daily. These words will be uplifting and transformative.

One can feel precious words, filled with bliss, passing through. Your spiritual strength will increase, and your body and soul will radiate with vitality.

Those who worship and meditate on the Athma Gayatri mantra for a mandala, observing the fast, will experience remarkable transformations in their lives. Anyone who engages in any activity with mindfulness for a mandala will attain eternal bliss.

The souls you guide will experience profound spiritual growth. The full extent of these benefits will be revealed in the grand scheme of Pralayakaala, when the universe undergoes its great renewal. Those who persevere will attain the ultimate truth.

Every action undertaken with devotion will yield extraordinary results. Let compassion, like a mother’s love, guide your actions as you collectively strive to liberate all souls.

How may a human being serve the divine?

While constructing temples and crafting epics and scriptures are noble endeavours, and feeding the hungry is a divine act, the greatest service lies in enlightening souls of those lost in darkness. In the age of Kali Yuga, the most exalted duty is to enlighten souls, uplift them spiritually, and guide them towards liberation, rather than merely providing physical sustenance.
